    Integrated Pest Management

    Lebbeck mealybug

    • Apply systemic chemistry with bloom safe label prior to fruit set.
    • Manage for ants, particularly fire ants.
    • Monitor for activity during fruit set and treat if needed to protect developing fruit.
    • Include a spray oil in every foliar application and get thorough coverage of all parts of the tree.
    • Move from groves with low infestation to high infestation, not the other way around to reduce spread.
    • Sanitize equipment and tools.

    Bulimulus bonariensis (snails)

    • Seasonal activity begins in mid to late March.
    • Snails are present though less abundant from October through mid-March.
    • Snails are attracted to areas of moisture and tend to aggregate in these locations as temperatures increase throughout the day.
    • Target management towards most active periods of the day, including late evening, overnight, and early morning.
    • Attractive mollusk baits and abamectin formulated for foliar applications are the most effective chemistries tested to date.

    Other invertebrate pests

    • Rust mites
