Passion Fruit
Passion fruit is a perennial vine that is vigorous under warm humid conditions. They require trellising for production, and can begin producing fruit in less than one year in Florida. A 1-year old vine can produce 5-15 lbs of fruit in the first season. Although passion fruit vines are sensitive to cold, passion fruit can survive mild freezes, and may produce multiple harvests per year during the summer and fall. Ongoing research is testing productivity in central Florida.
