Specialty Crops
Florida offers a unique environment that supports the production of a wide range of commercial specialty crops. The state’s climate varies across regions, creating diverse growing conditions that enable the successful production of different types of crops throughout Florida. In addition, producers benefit from generally mild conditions that support extended growing periods, as well as access to abundant sunlight and variable soils suited to different production systems. Together, these factors contribute to a highly diverse agricultural system, enabling growers to adapt production practices and maintain productivity across a broad range of crops under Florida conditions.
