The Facilities Operations department is responsible for maintaining the facilities infrastructure at the Citrus Research and Education Center.
The main responsibility of the grove department is the routine maintenance of all citrus groves (see link for GIS Maps) in the Citrus Research and Education Foundation.
The Human Resources office maintains employee records, benefit information, payroll and hiring.
ISD provides support to CREC users with computer networking, information systems development, network infrastructure, and telephone support.
The University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Science (UF-IFAS) and the Citrus Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) established The Mature Citrus Facility (MCF) at the Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC) in Lake Alfred, FL in 2011. This is a service-oriented facility for scientists, growers, and industry. Targets include tolerance or resistance to citrus canker, citrus greening or huanglongbing, and other value-added traits.
The CREC Processing Pilot Plant contains most of the equipment necessary to perform studies related to citrus, beverage, and by-products processing.
The Core Citrus Transformation Facility was established to expedite integration of recombinant DNA technologies and genetic engineering into basic research from other related disciplines, including biochemistry, food science/processing, post harvest physiology, horticulture, plant pathology, and entomology by providing a service that will allow researchers from all disciplines to have their genes of interest transferred and tested in the appropriate citrus cultivars.
