The 2nd Annual Flavor Summit Industry Perspectives workshop is hosted by the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center and the University of Florida Center for Smell and Taste. While we are very excited about hosting the Flavor Summit February 23-24, a number of potential participants have shared their concerns about attending in person because of the omicron variant.  So, taking into consideration that some speakers and participants are limited in their travel and with safety as a primary concern, the conference will now be offered virtually.

We are offering the same level of presentations and plan to have an engaging opportunity with sponsors, exhibitors, and students.  All registered attendees will be sent a swag bag with materials from exhibitors and sponsors.

This workshop will offer insights into the cutting-edge science and current industry trends relevant to flavor. Topics will include flavor generation and flavor precursors, chemosensory perception and psychophysics, consumer preferences, and natural products as sources of novel flavor compounds. The training program will be provided by leading speakers from industry, government, and academic institutions around the world. Posters and tabletop demonstrations will also be available throughout the workshop.

For those interested participants who would like to travel to Central Florida, a special evening social kickoff to the conference will be hosted at the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred the evening of February 23.  This will be a great opportunity for industry and academia to gather in person and enjoy a lively reception with exhibits from sponsors and exhibitors. There will also be a tasting of new fruit and vegetables from the UF breeding programs.

We are reducing the cost of the conference to $99 for participants ($148 for those who also plan to attend the evening social) and $69 for students.  Exhibitors may participate for $125-200. For more information, please contact Jamie Burrow, jdyates@ufl.edu
