Learning Outcomes
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Build a HYDRUS-1D project from scratch, including geometry, discretization, and time settings.
- Parameterize soil hydraulic properties using van Genuchten-Mualem parameters and pedotransfer tools.
- Set realistic boundary conditions and root water uptake for an irrigated profile.
- Simulate and interpret water and nutrient movement, including leaching and mass balance.
- Recognize when a 2D or 3D approach is warranted and follow a basic drip emitter example.
